Harbour Day 2019

Applications for Harbour Day 2019 closing soon...

LATEST NEWS: Harbour Day 2019 gets underway!

Harbour Day 2018 was a fantastic success. We had thousands of visitors exploring the zones, taking part in challenges and watching the multitude of displays. Harbour Day 2019 on Saturday 3rd August is set to be even bigger and better.

The initial closing date for applications for stall plots at Harbour Day 2019 has passed, though some limited space may still be available. If you or your organisation would like to take part, please download a copy of the Application Form  and return the completed application by email or by post to the address show on the form. Applications are likely to exceed the number of plots available, so don't delay, apply today!

When applying, please choose a theme that reflects Whitstable Maritime’s aim of celebrating our links with the sea - past, present and future: for, example, 'coastal planting’, 'satellite tracking of coastal erosion’, 'marine pollution’, ‘local marine archaeological finds’, ’scouting at sea’, ‘historical maritime magazines’, ‘boat building’; etc.

Where possible, please include an activity for children. The souvenir programme for 2019 is being prepared and if you have information about your organisation that you think will be of interest to the public, please include this information along with your application. We may also choose to use such information in any advance publicity.

Harbour Day 2019 will be promoted in Whitstable, Canterbury, Herne Bay and Faversham, as well as through national networks, giving all organisations good coverage. Last year over 200 volunteers welcomed 10,000 visitors to the harbour which was a wonderful community achievement.
